Outcast Season 1 DVD We caught up with showrunner Chris Black on the creative process behind the creation of Rome, the fictitious West Virginian town.We used the comic book always as a reference. We carried it around with us. When were scouting, when David Tattersoll–the Director of Photography–shot the pilot, we used the frames of the comic book as images to create portraits of this world. And I know the locations people did as well. I would get chills sometimes when we shot the pilot, and you would walk up to a set, and you’d hold the comic book up next to it and go, “That’s crazy!”
