The Orville DVD The first episode is a bit rough, to say the least. It’s the episode where I think the humor landed the furthest from target but through it all I did see something there. It wasn’t nearly as bad as I was expecting and it certainly did seem like, as said by MacFarlane and others, Fox had over-sold the humor aspects of the show rather than focusing on the sci-fi show and more dramatic elements. The broader humor, thankfully, didn’t quite reach the Family Guy levels I had feared. I actually gave a couple of chuckles.
